Pedagogical evaluation must be a prominent place in the teaching processes of the student with intellectual disabilities since, by means of it, it is possible to raise aspects that may contribute to the student's development and learning. The objective of this work was to investigate and analyze practices related to the pedagogical evaluation of students with intellectual disabilities in the context of Specialized Education Service (known in Brazil by the Portuguese acronym, AEE). Five Special Education teachers from the municipal education system of a city in the state of São Paulo participated in this study. The data collection procedure used was a focus group. The Atlas.Ti 8 software was used for coding and categorizing the reports by relevant themes that became units of analysis that were discussed based on the cultural-historical theory. The results of this work add contributions to the study areas of assessment of the person with intellectual disabilities in the AEE, besides demonstrating weaknesses in this context and the lack of references or solid indicators to subsidize this practice.
