Abstract

SILVA, Fernando de Almeida  and  FORNASIER, Rafael Cerqueira. AFFECTIVE DROPOUT AND SCHOOL LEARNING PROCESSES. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.72, pp.212-232.  Epub Aug 03, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.62028.

The article on affective abandonment of children and school learning processes aims to describe affective abandonment in an interdisciplinary perspective (human sciences, applied social sciences and biological sciences) and to identify the possible consequences on children's school learning. It is a qualitative research, which proposes to carry out a literature review (empirical and non-empirical) in works and contemporary authors, emphasizing the importance of the affective complex for the personal and social development of people. A priori, the phenomenon of emotional abandonment points to the impossibility of the child's integral development, constituting in today's society a challenge to education in the 21st century. Considering that most cases of abandonment in Brazil are related to the socioeconomic conditions of families' socioeconomic vulnerability, according to social indicators presented in the survey, the study indicates that the exercise of non-affectiveness, neglect or emotional abandonment has a negative impact on human development, causing damage irreparable at all stages that make up the school learning process.

Keywords : abandonment; affection; kid; learning; school.
