MACHADO, Maria Letícia Cautela de Almeida  e  WALTER, Cátia Crivelenti de Figueiredo. THE CONTEMPORANEITY OF KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTION IN SPECIAL AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN BRAZIL. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.73, pp.2-17.  Epub 24-Ago-2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.76935.

This article aims to contextualize the scenario of Inclusive educational public policies, as well as to point out aspects of educational processes and proposals that enable the implementation of a special and inclusive education. This discussion constitutes the scenario from which the articles that make up the thematic dossier of the Revista Teias edition, entitled The contemporaneity of knowledge production in special and inclusive education in Brazil, are presented. It is pointed out that inclusive education has been built from advances in public policies, as well as in research that discuss epistemological aspects and present scientific evidence of the effectiveness of educational proposals, implemented in the different contexts of basic education and higher education, which include the diversity of students. It is evident that the dossier encourages a space for reflection both on curricular and teacher training policies and on educational practices that articulate special and inclusive education and refer to the confrontation of inequalities in education and the guarantee of equity of access, permanence, school advancement and learning for all students, especially for those who are the target audience of special education. It is concluded that the studies presented corroborate the understanding that special education has been re-signified and understood no longer as a separate specialized educational system, but as a consistent framework of theoretical and practical knowledge, strategies, methodologies and resources that schools need available to meet the diversity of students that constitute them.
