Abstract

MASCARO, Cristina Angélica Aquino de Carvalho  and  ESTEF, Suzanli. TEACHER TRAINING FOR SPECIALIZED EDUCATIONAL SERVICE THROUGH ACTION-RESEARCH. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.73, pp.198-208.  Epub Aug 24, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.74080.

The article is part of the theme of pedagogical practices with young and adult students with intellectual disabilities mediated by technologies. It aims to present an experience report on teacher training through action-research bias for teaching in remote Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE). The training proposal focuses on the application of the Individualized Educational Plan (PEI) with an emphasis on literacy and literacy. Based on the triad of the university pillar: teaching, research and extension, a theoretical and practical training was elaborated, combining research on the PEI, the AEE, Literacy and literacy of young students and adults with disabilities. The methodological option was action research, which allowed the planning, development and evaluation of the proposal with the participants (teachers, students with intellectual disabilities and home support agents). The study took place in all its stages in a virtual environment, mediated by technologies. As relevant results, we point out the uniqueness of a remote AEE modality to work with these students, in addition to the structuring of a personalized pedagogical work for teaching reading, writing and literacy. As for the course teachers, the protocol for applying the IEP was fundamental to structure the students' IEP, with the planning of specific activities for each one of them. The customization of processes during the application of the PEI allowed significant results for each of the students in the academic, social and work areas. It was concluded that the methodological approach of action-research makes possible the formative processes emerging in contemporary schools.
