Resumen

GOMES, Jacqueline de Souza  y  BARCELLOS, Danielle Pereira. FROM SPECIAL CLASSES TO INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: a study on the education system in Miracema/RJ. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.73, pp.219-230.  Epub 24-Ago-2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.74241.

This study brings together reports about the education system in the municipality of Miracema, compiling narratives from professionals who worked directly in special classes and also brings the main challenges and achievements in safeguarding the right to education for people with disabilities and in the implementation of the Special Education from the perspective of Inclusive Education at the municipal level. In addition, the study relies on theoretical support conceived in bibliographical and documentary sources belonging to existing collections in the personal archives of education professionals who worked in the extinct Special Classes, or in schools that had such classes, and who accepted the challenge of reporting their life experiences during the period in which they worked with the education of disabled children in segregated classes within the regular school space, in order to speak about Inclusive Education, from the perspective of school integration and its characteristics regarding Applied Inclusive Special Education within the scope of the municipality of Miracema/RJ. Thus, this article aims to address Inclusive Education in municipal education, from the perspective of professionals involved in the transition from segregated special classes to inclusive/integrated Education. In this way, it is clear that from the perspective of teachers, education professionals, former students and family members involved in the research through reports of their experiences, as well as according to the theoretical and documentary support raised, it was concluded that improvements in infrastructure, professional training and integration of health and education services offered to students with disabilities have always been necessary, even 30 years ago, to actually offer an education with positive results for students with disabilities, demonstrating the effectiveness of an education multidisciplinary approach that is truly inclusive.

Palabras clave : special education from the perspective of inclusive education; disabled people; human rights.
