The study presents an analysis of the different training priorities listed by teachers from the state network of Paraíba (PB), through an action planned by the project Continued Training in Basic Education: curricular practices as axes of professional development. It briefly highlights the political context in which bases for initial and continuing training are proposed and stresses the considerations of teachers about their training in relation to the document Educational Goals for the Education We Want in the Bicentennial 2021, organized by the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI). The tensions verified between the agenda of goals for the Bicentennial (OEI, 2010) and the research clipping, indicated the professional valorization as a fundamental requirement to forward a process of continuous formation. A scenario of construction of multiple local identities and the construction of commitments to the learning and teaching processes was also identified, which is not consistent with a single curriculum or “cheap” in terms of funding, but a connection between local, collective knowledge and individual stakeholders.
