Abstract

CUSTODIO, Otávio da Silva  and  CUSTODIO, Renato. THE EDUCATOR-BACHELOR IN THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM GUIDELINES FOR BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES COURSES. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.74, pp.111-123.  Epub Dec 06, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.71634.

It is noted that the National Curriculum Guidelines (DCN) for Biological Sciences courses, detailed by Report 1.301 of 2001, include the role of educating in the profile and in the skills and abilities of graduated. However, even though such guidelines guide the structure and objectives of these courses and, consequently, the formation of undergraduates in Brazilian territory, there is a lack of research dedicated to investigating such educator attributions. In this sense, this work aims to analyze the role of educating proposed by the DCN for Biological Sciences courses. Documentary analysis was used as a methodology, in which Report 1.301/2001 was investigated as well as excerpts from discussions that narrate the elaboration of such DCN. As result, it is understood that the educator's attributions are directed to the graduate of the bachelor's degree in such courses, that is, to the bachelor in Biological Sciences. If, on the one hand, this role of educating can contribute to the devaluation of the teacher formation, on the other hand, it can bring out the relevance of such action by the bachelor. Finally, among other positive and negative points linked to this role of educating, it is important that more studies focus on the process of elaboration of these DCN for Biological Sciences courses.
