Abstract

The article has as its central theme play and the role of mediation in this process, having as main objective to reflect on the mediation of playing in the process of child psychic constitution since the beginning of life, when playing is strongly marked by the intervention of another human being. that names the objects and points out their functions for the child, even the symbolic play, the result of the action of the imagination on the objects and on the social situations of life. This is a theoretical study, of narrative review of the literature, carried out with qualitative bibliographic research based on the conceptual basis of the historicalcultural theory of human psychic development. The study highlights mediated play as fundamental for the development of higher psychological functions and for the humanization of children. Thus, this work can contribute to the understanding of mediated learning from the beginning of life and the indispensability of playing in children's psychic development.
