Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Maria Lucijane Gomes de  and  LIMA, Marcos Antonio Martins. UNIVERSAL LEARNING ASSESSMENT AND DESIGN: a study at a public university in the state of Ceará, Brazil. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.74, pp.208-229.  Epub Dec 06, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.70355.

This study aims to investigate the contributions of the theoretical-practical Universal Design of Learning (UDL) model in higher education. The population, object of study, was fixed by students of the pedagogy course, blended modality, of a Public University of Ceará, Brazil. For this analysis, consider (n=110) students, distributed in the on-site centers in the city of Beberibe, Brejo Santo, Caucaia, Itapipoca, Orós, Sobral and Russas, in the State of Ceará (CE). The study is a field research, descriptive with a quantitative approach. For data collection, Likert-type scale applications were applied to evaluate the UDL model. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program, version 21.0 for Windows. The results showed that the researched institution partially complies with the principles of the UDL, especially regarding personalized teaching, such as learning alternatives with auditory and visual information, functions for monitoring the progress of students' learning, as well as options for personal development , through self-assessment and reflection.
