We seek to bring to discussion the contributions of scientific initiation activity for initial training in Higher Education. We focus on the bachelor's degree in Agronomy offered by IF Goiano campus Urutaí. Analysis of participation in CI activities has been insufficiently studied within the scope of the IF Goiano. In a qualitative case study, we've combined bibliographic and documentary research. Data analysis points to the emergence of a scientific culture within the course of Agronomy closely associated with the articulation of curricular and extracurricular activities, in the teaching-research-extension triad, which foster the consolidation of an ethos of scientific research in the institution, and which translates into the students involvement in an investigative practice.
