Abstract

GARCIA, Pablo Daniel; SZAPU, Ezequiel  and  KAPLAN, Carina V.. COMMUNICATION OF EMOTIONS AND PROCESSING OF SOCIAL PAIN IN SCHOOL: a socio-educational study with young students from the province of Buenos Aires. Revista Teias [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.75, pp.320-335.  Epub Dec 26, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2023.76950.

The emotions of the students are a constitutive part of youth subjectivity. Taking into account that the school order is affective in nature, emotions and feelings are central elements to understand and intervene in the processing of social wounds. When educational trajectories are marked by situations of aggression, discrimination or stigmatization, a social pain is built that is difficult to process. This article shares the results of a study based on the application of a questionnaire in which the relationships between emotional experiences and the production of violence are posed as a problem. The responses of 4023 students, who answered the questionnaire during the year 2022, are recovered. In particular, this article considers and analyzes the empirical material collected regarding the communication of emotions at school and the ways in which it intervenes in situations of violence. The analysis of the emotional experiences that make up the school plot allows a better understanding of the conflicts that occur in everyday life in order to advance in a pedagogical approach that tends to improve coexistence.
