The paper analyzes the influences of racism in a public school of Belo Horizonte on the identity and image constructions of six female black teenagers with ages between 12 and 15 years old. Drawing on interviews and a methodology named My reflection in the mirror, this case study employs concepts from academics fields as sociology of education and ethnic and racial studies. Intersectional aspects that cross and oppress girls bodies as race, class and gender were identified. By contrast, despite the structural racism of brazilian society, possibles breaches in the structure contribute to a positive identity and image construction of these black girls. Rely on a historical process, some political attitudes identified in this research helps to change the ways brazilian black people recognize and presents itself.
