This text discusses educational policy and Inclusive Education for people with disabilities in youth and adult education in Brazil. It aims to reflect on the challenges that educational policy research experiences in Brazil in the field of educational policies that impact the implementation of inclusive education for people with disabilities, especially young people, and adults, through a narrative literature review research. It is methodologically organized based on theoretical foundations, based primarily on consultation, the publications of the Working Group (GT 05 – State and Educational Policy), of National Association of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Education (ANPEd), and authors who support the need to position research in educational policy for the democratization of education. To this end, it is divided into three parts: 1) the contextualization of policies and priorities for basic education, adopted by governments elected from 2018 onwards; 2) the inclusive education policy and people with disabilities in youth and adult education; 3) reflections on some challenges, which imply responsibilities in research and production of knowledge about educational policies, especially in the field of inclusive education for people with disabilities in youth and adult education. As a result, it brings contributing reflections to the problematization of inclusive education policies for people with disabilities in youth and adult education in contemporary times.
