BOWMAN, Maria Alejandra. WORK TRAINING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS: inclusion agenda in a public university. Revista Teias [online]. 2024, vol.25, n.77, pp.306-316. Epub 13-Jul-2024. ISSN 1982-0305.
This text collects findings from a qualitative ethnographic research that studies the political and institutional links between the education of youth and adults and training for work in the city of Chilecito, province of La Rioja, Argentina. The article addresses as a central topic the vocational training processes aimed at young people and adults who have not completed compulsory schooling. Firstly, it develops the ups and downs of the articulations between education and work from the national public policies produced in recent decades in Argentina. Secondly, it focuses on the agendas that public universities have built to meet the demands and needs of the working population. Finally, the article focuses – specifically - at the University Program of Trade and Technical-Professional Training implemented, since 2022, at the National University of Chilecito. It is an experience with community anchorage aimed at designing, organizing and implementing a training scheme for work based on productive needs and training demands.
