SOUSA, Ladjane Alves  e  LIMA, Solyane Silveira. BLACK TEACHERS IN THE POST-ABOLITION: the strike and its intersections in the city of Salvador in 1918. Revista Teias [online]. 2024, vol.25, n.78, pp.91-106.  Epub 11-Out-2024. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2024.83716.

In this writing, we analyze the presence and actions of black primary school teachers in the strike that took place in Salvador in 1918. The aim is to explain the presence and actions of these black and black primary school teachers in the leadership of the teachers' strike in 1918, reflecting on the intersectionality that crossed them during their movements and struggles for professional teaching rights, with the intention of communicating about those who have historically been made invisible and the complexities that shape them. The theoretical contribution relates the teaching strike of 1918, inspired by authors such as Silva (1997), Costa and Conceição (2001), Silva (2017) and Miguel (2021), with intersectionality and deepening of inequalities, based on Collins and Bilge (2021) and Carneiro (2011). In this way, problematizing this topic requires us to think about the category of race and its intersection with other categories, such as gender and class, and the deepening of the inequalities experienced by these teachers at the end of the 1910s in Brazil.
