In this bibliographic study, classified as state of the art, we propose to analyze the findings resulting from the mapping of academic productions, dissertations and theses, carried out in the public domain interfaces Portal de Periódicos da Capes and Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), relating the research carried out on the episteme Afrofuturism in Education, respecting from the first to the last work identified, thus establishing the period from 2012 to 2024. The research selected 37 studies, of which 31 are dissertations and 6 are theses. The descriptors “afrofuturismo”, “afrofuturo” and “afrofuturista” were used as a search source, articulating the searches with the descriptors of junction represented by the “sum” sign and of continuity by the “hyphen” sign, as well as the appropriation of the Boolean operators “AND” or “OR”. The data was organized, categorized and ordered according to the premises of data analysis (Bardin, 2016). The results revealed that there are still few works on Afrofuturism in Education, but they are being developed in Postgraduate Programs from the most diverse areas of knowledge, on the contrary, in Postgraduate Programs in Education there is an absence of works on this theme. Therefore, this research reveals a demand for work in the field of education, thus allowing greater scientific dissemination of contemporary themes, such as Afrofuturism.
