MARIN, Alejandro López de Lara. TEACHERS IN MEXICO: between socialist education and the “school of love” 1940-1943. Revista Teias [online]. 2024, vol.25, n.78, pp.147-162. Epub 11-Oct-2024. ISSN 1982-0305. https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2024.84220.
The purpose of this article is to analyze the transition from Socialist Education to the School of Love, a product of a historical context in which the processes of transformation were affected by the installation of a new government in 1940 in Mexico, of which the conservative sectors acquired a greater presence and disputed the achievements conquered by the popular sectors. However, educational experiences, such as that of the socialist with popular roots, managed to institute essential elements and values of the meaning of public education in Mexico, and since the teaching profession was the sector that made it possible, it also became the guardian of these values, despite conservative attempts to violently dismantle public meaning.
