The presence of women in school management positions is consolidated in Brazil. However, it is necessary to draw attention to women's performance at the head of public schools' direction, occupying positions that also constitute spaces of power and contention. This research aims to discuss the management of schools by women who held positions of leadership in state public schools in the context of the implementation of the Full-Time High School Policy in Ceará. The exploratory research, of a qualitative nature, has the categories of gender and school management as its axis. For this purpose, the Oral History methodology was implemented, through the performance of interviews with three school principals from pilot schools of this policy in the city of Fortaleza. The analysis of the interviewees' speeches was carried out from Bardin's Content Analysis. The research revealed the challenges faced by the principals, especially during the implementation of the Full-Time High School Policy, and how the gender issues impact the daily life of school management.
