DINIZ, Priscilla Guimarães Zanella; BARROS, Marcelo Diniz Monteiro de y ARAUJO-JORGE, Tania Cremonini de. GENETICS IN ENEM (INEP): the presence of images and the characterization of questions based on the reference matrix for the exam. Revista Teias [online]. 2024, vol.25, n.79, e79476. The National High School Examination (ENEM), established in 1998, gained notoriety in 2005 as a mechanism for accessing the University for All Program (ProUni) and became established in 2009 as a mechanism for accessing the Unified Selection System (SISU). The present research analyzes, according to the cognitive axes present in the exam reference matrix, 147 ENEM Genetics questions applied between 1998 and 2023, aiming to understand the Exam. Besides, it highlights issues that contain images in their structure or alternatives, since a strong relationship can be seen between the teaching of Genetics and the use of images. These images were analyzed and categorized. It was possible to perceive, in the context of genetics, that contextualization and interdisciplinarity are present in the questions and play fundamental roles in science teaching. Furthermore, it was found the presence of many images typical of the scientific language in the area of Genetics.
