OLIVEIRA, Caroline Barroncas de; COSTA, Mônica de Oliveira  e  AIKAWA, Monica Silva. THE AMAZONIAN BODY-WOMAN: Women researchers and the philosophy of difference. Revista Teias [online]. 2024, vol.25, n.79, e80279.  Epub 07-Maio-2025. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2024.80279.

This essay utilizes the Philosophy of Difference to problematize the existence of women as researchers as well as to reaffirm our multifaceted existence within research group "Vidar In-tensions." How to write a feminine body from the Amazon who researches aligned with difference? In what ways to write oneself as a female researcher who escapes locatable positions and coordinates? Emotionality, beauty, and delicacy shaped femininity throughout centuries, consequently our body remains confined within powers, limitations, prohibitions, and obligations. These elements are not over yet for women; in fact, they are still present in society to reproduce sensuality, objectification, undervaluation, obedience, and chastity. We face these established truths and position ourselves as women researchers through the lens of the Becoming in the Philosophy of Difference, i. e., a philosophy of multiplicity and construction that assumes a fluidity and leads to the invention of concepts. The text is articulated with the tool of Foucaultian self-writing, by assuming self-writing as self-creation, multiplication of forms of life of Amazon women who research on the borders of difference. We rotate our own lives with the group Vidar In-tensões, in acts of oneself with oneself and with others, in escapes from the instituting of what we can and should be. While creating what can become within our research group, we venture to live through actions towards ourselves and otherwise in a way that escapes any expectations of what we can and should be. We engage in educational formative processes through minor paths, clandestine actions, and nomadism; as a result, we end up generating seemingly insignificant, uninteresting, and disqualified feminine research. We engage in the Philosophy of Difference to address and find ourselves in the process of existing within the university as women and researchers. We continue as a breach in the most enclosed spaces in a becoming-woman and in a selftransformation that occurs within a zone of proximity.
