This study discusses didactic and methodological aspects for teaching marajoara wrestling in high school, based on the presentation of a pedagogical sequence of four classes developed in 2023 with approximately 136 first-year students. Starting from the idea that high school should deepen knowledge with based on interdisciplinary, conceptual reflections and improved technical experience, the objective of this study was to present and discuss a pedagogical experience with the marajoara wrestling held in the State of Pará, in the context of a federal public school in the capital Belém. The question that guided the construction and development of the experience was: how to teach marajoara wrestling in high school? Through the lived experience, it was possible to infer that the marajoara wrestling, when pedagogically mediated, presents a broad educational potential, because, due to its novelty and regional belonging, it allows students to understand fundamental dimensions of knowledge in the field of body fights in general, at the same time in which know about some constituent elements of marajoara cultural identity.
