Abstract

CARVALHO, José Mauricio de. Martin Buber and the education. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2018, vol.32, n.66, pp.1175-1202.  Epub Sep 22, 2020. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.issn.0102-6801.v32n66a2018-09.

In this paper, are studied the Martin Buber’s theses about education and what gives it sustenance. Like background of your pedagogical ideas, are grounded general reflections, assumptions of the studied problem. To him, the individualist education, with emphasis in personal freedom and national liberty, developed in Western in the French Revolution spirit, lost the universality dimension. This ideal is found in each nation, but when the pedagogical project of a people is reduced to the pursuit of personal and political freedom, it cannot accomplish the universal humanism. On the contrary, only when the universal values become the guides of the pedagogical project of this nation, is that is can realize the ideals of the universal humanism. These ideals would be present in a community education, in which all of these school agents participate of the educative process and where all participants are protagonists in the creation of the community life.
