The present work analyzes how journalism builds up and circulates discoursiveness about the school in present context. We particularly investigated the production of magazine “Veja”, the more representative products of Brazilian written press in terms of circulation, issuing and influence on the national public discussion calendar. We adopted the Discourse Analysis as a theoretical and methodological proposal for the reading and interpretation of the written press production. Based on that perspective, we tried to apprehend operation manners, produced consents, (non-said) statements, repetitions and also the emergency of the ‘different’ and of the multiplicity of senses that the journalistic discourse can produce about a school education in Brazil.
