This article starts by describing what is normally understood by ‘education’, questioning its inherent concepts of ‘learning’ and ‘human development’. The emphasis is on life in society as a fact/condition of life, highlighting the historicity as the main postulate for its understanding. It goes on then to a more theoretical ground, and analyses the features of the concept of ‘relationship’. The stance taken is that education happens as a learning process by the transformation that happens on people through human interaction. Finally, it concludes proposing thoughts about the school.
