SANTOS, Luciano Campos dos. Sociedade pós-literária e os desafios da educação moral. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2011, vol.25, n.49, pp.305-320. ISSN 1982-596X.

The aim of this paper is to introduce the discussion concerning the educational implications of Peter Sloterdijk’s thesis, the one presented in the first part of his book “Rules for the Human park.” There he claims that the humanist project for a formation of the homo humanus through the literary culture - which had in view, especially, refraining men’s “noninhibiting” (enthemmenden) tendencies responsible for the various sorts of barbarism - has dismantled itself. It is, thus, possible to characterize the present mass society, which follows in the wake of the present types of media such as radio, television, and internet, as post-humanist or postliterary. It is, therefore, possible to question, from Sloterdijk’s assertions, what type of role could school still play - as formal education institution, traditionnaly humanistic - especially when it comes to the moral formation of a post-humanist society where violence makes itself noted even within the very wall of the school itself.
