Abstract

This paper discusses the architecture of the school representations concept based on theoretical discussions of the representation’s idea by Gaston Bachelard and the phenomenon of social representations by Serge Moscovici. From the way these two authors deal with this, their points of convergence are highlighted, which create the necessary conditions to speak of a legitimacy of a school space and, therefore, of its representations that we see crossed by a variety of contexts and where, in this study, we highlight those related to the consensus and scientific, which end up being linked to the creation of representations of schools themselves with their specificity related to the context of production, subjects, and objectives. Though it has to do with a concept that can be recontextualized in different fields of education, this paper outlines its architecture based on the field of Science Education.
