Abstract

PETRY, Franciele Bete. Experiência e formação em Theodor W. Adorno. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2015, vol.29, n.57, pp.455-488. ISSN 1982-596x.  https://doi.org/10.14393/REVEDFIL29n57p455.

This work aims at discussing the concept of experience and its relation with the notion of formation in Theodor W. Adorno's thought. In his writings about education, Adorno relates experiencie with a way of thinking the reality, which could lead the subject to emancipation. This idea presupposes that thinking be oriented by an alternative relationship with its object, trying to express its nonconceptual aspects. This way of thinking consists in a philosophical experience, and it is not only dialectic, but has also a mimetic component. The aesthetics experience can be considered a moment in which the subject can disclose the true content of the artwork and achieve a mediated knowledge of reality, something that requires the philosophical critique. In this sense, philosophical experience and aesthetic experience can be considered complementary and essential for the formation of conscience and they contribute, for this reason, to an education for the emancipation.
