KARNOPP, Lodenir Becker  e  POKORSKI, Juliana de Oliveira. Representações na literatura surda sobre modos de ser surdo. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2015, vol.29, n.1es, pp.355-373. ISSN 1982-596x.  https://doi.org/10.14393/REVEDFIL.issn.0102-6801.v29nEspeciala2015-p355a373.

This paper investigates representations of manners of being deaf, circulating in narratives produced in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), by academics of the Course Letters-Libras, from classes started in 2008. This study is linked to Cultural Studies in Education and Deaf Studies, which problematize the power relations involved in the construction of cultural meanings. Thus, the videos produced by these academics are understood as cultural artifacts, which are constituted as a cultural resource in a territory and claims of cultural codes negotiations. Based on research by one of the authors of this article, entitled Representations in the Deaf Literature: production of the deaf difference in Languages-Libras Course (POKORSKI, 2014), this article examines manners of being deaf, present in nine (9) narratives that analyze deaf experiences. Finally, the representations show cultural practices historically exclusionary; however, emphasize the sign language and the deaf community as recovery marks of their difference.
