The aim of this exhibition is to address the evidence available to researchers intend to investigate the arrival and the work of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Mary Berlaar in catholic education, considering the period between the arrival of the missionaries to Brazil (1907) and the publication of Law n. 5692/1971 (Reform 1st and 2nd degrees), with emphasis on the following sources, arranged in fi les: church documents, laws, manuals, records (books, newsletters, books of minutes, diaries, correspondence). Consist of documentation of great importance for the understanding of catholic education throughout the twentieth century, notably in Minas Gerais. The foundation of the sisters of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Mary Berlaar occurs in 1845, in Belgium, in the context of ecclesial renewal and missionary catholic propagation, emphasizing education as a form of doctrinal dissemination. In Minas Gerais, the school expanding congregation covers prominently cities like Montes Claros, Araguari, Patrocínio, Pará de Minas and Belo Horizonte.
