Abstract

:

This work intends to apprehend evidences of the pedagogical thinking basis which led to a new mark in the religious education in Brazil, from the mapping of the references used in the book "Pedagogia do catecismo" (Catechism Pedagogics) (1937), used in the formation of catechists and Catholic teachers between the decades of 1930 and 1960, paying attention to the ways in which the appropriation was made or indicated. We seek to understand the pedagogical foundations of schoolarization of catechesis, articulated to modern pedagogies that anchored the projects of the Republican Brazilian school. These advances appear in teaching materials that have incorporated the pedagogical proposals from the Modern Pedagogy and, later, from the New School. The textbook was taken so as the main source to understand this process of schooling of catechesis and renewal of religious education, based on the theoretical principles of book and textbook history, with Chartier (1990; 1994) and Carvalho (2001; 2006).
