Abstract

ANJOS, Juarez José Tuchinski dos. Between greeks and trojans: school cultures in childhood memories of Francisco Macedo (Campo Largo - Paraná, 1883). Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2016, vol.30, n.59, pp.233-263. ISSN 1982-596x.  https://doi.org/10.14393/REVEDFIL.issn.0102-6801.v30n59a2016-p233a263.

Discussing with Geertz (2008), Chartier (2002; 2009), Julia (2001) and Certeau (2002), this article of historiographical nature operates on the assumption that the school culture is a web of practices meant by students and teachers in a given historical moment whose logic is amenable to analysis and interpretation by the historian. With the childhood memories of Francisco Macedo as sources, it aims to identify and understand the logic presiding the school practices in the 1st primary education school for boys of Vila de Campo Largo (Paraná) in 1883 and the school culture produced by it.

Keywords : School Cultures; Province of Paraná; 19th Century.
