The aim of this paper is to analyze the ideia of the homo faber according to Hans Jonas's philosophy and his descriptive-analytical and evaluative view of technology. According to the author, the history of the technique could be divided in two parts, the pre-modern and modern, so it's possible to understand the homo faber under these two perspectives: in the first case, he is an user of tools and, in the second, a product or a technological object.
