Marion or the work to be redone. Upon becoming a specialist in the thinking of Descartes, Marion did not sacrifice himself to a mere academic exercise, because his continuously deep study allowed him to gather all the dimensions of his work, both phenomenological and theological. In a certain sense, the task Marion proposed for himself was to redo the work of Descartes, but in an age that Descartes did not know, which is resolutely post-metaphysical.
