Abstract

SBRANA, Roberta Aline. Rhetorical analysis of memorialistic narratives. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2016, vol.30, suppl., pp.329-353. ISSN 1982-596x.  https://doi.org/10.14393/REVEDFIL.issn.0102-6801.v30nEspeciala2016-p329a353.

This paper aims at demonstrating that memorialistic narratives can be investigated through rhetorical analysis, according to the parameters indicated by Chaïm Perelman and other researchers that belong to the Aristotelian Philosophy revision movement. Initially, authors that value such narratives as relevant sources in the Historiography field will be introduced so as to immediately discuss the issues about the use of this type of material in researches destined to this area. Assuming that the contributions of autobiographical nature are valid, available alternatives to investigate them will be indicated according to specialized literature. Finally, considering such alternatives, one will argue that rhetorical analysis can be included in the range of methodologies capable of studying memorialist.

Keywords : Memory; History (Research); Rhetoric; Aristotle.
