Abstract

BORGES, Paulo. Nietzsche and Buddhism: illusion, death of God, killing of the Buddha, void and emptiness. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2017, vol.31, n.61, pp.443-474. ISSN 1982-596x.  https://doi.org/10.14393/REVEDFIL.issn.0102-6801.v31n61a2017-p443a474.

We try to rethink the relations between Nietzsche’s philosophy and Bu ddhism on the basis of the themes of the illusory nature of human’s perception of the world, the death of God, the killing of the Buddha and the implicit experience of the void or emptiness. This way we can discover convergences not realized by Nietzsche himself that open new horizons for the understanding of his thought.

Keywords : Nietzsche; Buddhism; Illusion; Death of God; Killing of the Buddha; Void; Emptiness.
