The objective of this paper is to analyze how Epicurus conceived the somatic pleasure (hedoné) from two fundamental points: as end (télos) of action and as source of disturbance. Understand the articulation of somatic pleasure in the Epicurean Philosophy, based on the two points above, contri butes to clarify other fundamental questions of Epicurean Ethics, for example, the conquest of happiness as ataraxia, i.e. a state of absence physical and mental disorders.
