In this text, the intention is to analyse the political-pedagogic project of the Arena Theatre of São Paulo (1955-1972), which incites us to reflect about the relationship between the politics, arts and human formation. We will analyse the reach of its work and social- political criticism inside the historical and ideological contest that has formed and acted the Arena Theatre of São Paulo. We will study the work of the Arena, inside the cultural and political effervescence picture in the end of the 1950’s and the decade of 1960’s, including the resistance of the obscure time of the military dictatorship in Brazil. In order to do this, the analysis of the Isebian influence on the question of awereness, including the work of Paulo Freire, has become essential.
