Abstract

RUEDA, Carlos Velázquez. Education symphony: variations on the theme of socio-emotional competences. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2017, vol.31, n.62, pp.811-831.  Epub Mar 09, 2021. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.issn.0102-6801.v31n62a2017-p811a831.

The rational inflation that characterizes the modern history begins to show signs of educational failure. Around the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development - OECD, begins to be structured a research network that seeks to meet the development of compensatory skills under the traditional cognitive overvaluation because we also identified the need to develop the so-called socio-emotional competences. Under the induction of analytical methodologies of qualitative research and bibliographic database of Jungian paradigm, this paper proposes that the socio-emotional development is interdependent with the cognitive development and a model of joint development can be found in the practice of music. In the body of this work, we find the explanation for the psycho-organic genesis of emotion in relation with education, and about the comparative background of musical experience. At the conclusion, it´s offered a music´s qualitative synthesis on cognitive and emotional development articulated, as well as an epistemological expansion of music in order to enable more embracing practices.
