Abstract

LEITE, Vanessa Caldeira  and  GARCIA, Maria Manuela Alves. Self writing and ethical work of a Supervised Practice in initial teacher education. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2017, vol.31, n.62, pp.833-863.  Epub Mar 09, 2021. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.issn.0102-6801.v31n62a2017-p833a863.

This paper focuses on self teaching formation through Supervised Practice courses in a Drama Bachelor Program by discussing the subjectivizing methods of seven students upon writing their practice reports. From a theoretical and methodological point of view, the study draws on Michel Foucault’s research on the field of ethics, analyzing the creation of a self reflexive professionalism through a universe of meanings and the relationships established within a set of twenty-one supervised practice reports that students wrote along three Supervised Practice semesters. The study ponders that both Practice and report writing are teaching devices within which certain self experiences of will-be teachers are produced and reproduced in the face of curriculum contingencies, their personal stories as well as rules and power relations at the institutions where they work.

Keywords : Initial teacher education; Supervised practice; Self experience; Self writing.
