NASCIMENTO, Edna Maria Magalhães do. The naturalistic and realistic philosophy of John Dewey: contributions to contemporary epistemology. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2017, vol.31, n.62, pp.909-942.  Epub 09-Mar-2021. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.issn.0102-6801.v31n62a2017-p909a942.

This project analyzes the realist epistemology and naturalist John Dewey, discussing his contribution to contemporary epistemology. The point of our research is to articulate the concepts and experience nature of John Dewey’s epistemology to the contributions of contemporary authors. At the end we intend to prove that the Dewey realism because it is characterized as a naturalist brings important contributions to current epistemology when you put in a shed contrary to objectivism, but without giving up science. To oppose the classical epistemology Dewey is not intended to depart completely from this area of philosophy, but postulate a new theoretical model in which knowledge can be understood as mediated by natural, causal, cognitive and cultural relations. Reveal that this approach is anticipated to contemporary aspects of knowledge whose explanation pass through the notion of complexity and holism.
