Abstract

MATOS, Junot Cornélio. Unveiling the mask of religion: a reflection since Nietzsche’s philosophy. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2018, vol.32, n.64, pp.233-242.  Epub Sep 20, 2020. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.issn.0102-6801.v32n64a2018-11.

This reflection has, as its central point, the discussion about the critical Nietzschean approach to religion. The aim is to demonstrate that Nietzsche is one of the reading possibilities of the modernity phenomenon. The philosopher refuses to investigate new horizons of the modernity project by undertaking a radical critique of metaphysics and religious perspectives of its time. Understanding that this is a time in which the human person is excluded and recognizing the need to rethink the Western project of humanity, the author of the present article resorts to Nietzsche's thought to find, in the genesis of his radical thinking, inspiring elements of a new criticism which embodies this text.

Keywords : Metaphysics; Nihilism; Christianity.
