Abstract

BACH, Augusto. Hannah Arendt and the Space Conquest. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2018, vol.32, n.64, pp.265-286.  Epub Sep 20, 2020. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.issn.0102-6801.v32n64a2018-13.

In this article we highlight the relationship between scientific discoveries and its political outcomes, according to Arendt´s analysis in her essay The Conquest of Space. The dilemma Arendt refers to is an absence of conscience since the outset of modern age and its technological prevalence before nature. As a result, humankind is troubled by the division between citizenship and scientific manipulation. How to rethink wordly responsibilities for actions in modern circumstances, where the struggle of political conscience have become less and less clear, is the main quest of this article.

Keywords : Arendt; Politics; History; Space.
