The purpose of this article is to present a fundamental question pertaining to the notion of education in the patristic and scholastic, namely: philosophical mastery, which here has a very precise meaning, namely, the recognition of rational maturity itself as regards the philosophical authorities, which necessarily imply in the acquisition of the awareness that in a strictly human, natural perspective, in certain scientific areas, there is no other magister beyond reason itself, of the continuous exercise of intelligence undertaken by the magister himself so that in those areas, the magister has no other magister in philosophy.
