Abstract

MURARO, Darcisio Natal  and  SOUSA, Claudiney José de. The philosophical education through narrative: the experience of thinking democracy. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2019, vol.33, n.67, pp.243-274.  Epub Aug 30, 2021. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.v33n67a2019-47646.

This paper aims to present the creation process of a philosophy teaching material for children centered on the theme of democracy. The philosophical methodology of concept analysis, anchored in the work of bibliographic exploration, guided the study. As a working hypothesis we analyzed the conception of democracy as an ethical and political way of life and its relations with educational practice based on the thinking of Dewey (1979) and Lipman (1990). Understanding the philosophical attitude as an educational practice in and for democracy has resulted in the creation of a philosophical narrative about democracy. The experience of the house is the reference for the creation of metaphorical narrative of democracy. The conceptual characters that inhabit the house problematize and discuss democracy from different philosophical perspectives: anthropological, epistemological, ontological, ethical, political, aesthetic, etc. The house becomes a research community as a reflective and creative environment of the human.

Keywords : Democracy; Teaching Philosophy; Community of Inquiry; Narrative.
