The so-called "structural method of textual analysis" has persisted in Brazilian philosophical thought, despite the criticisms received and its evidence of exhaustion. The present research intends to highlight some hypotheses about the survival of such procedure, as well as to analyze the relative absence of philosophy’s participation in the national public debate when compared to the presence of nearby areas and with its participation in the foreign debate.
