Abstract

ALMEIDA, Davi da Costa. Education and philosophy beyond the processes of domestication and bestialization of individuals. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2020, vol.34, n.71, pp.765-787.  Epub Feb 06, 2022. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.v34n71a2020-50193.

This article draws a parallel between education, ethics and the teaching of philosophy beyond the processes of domestication and bestialization of individuals in the contemporary world. This problem has its starting point with the crisis of humanism that affects the entire educational structure. Within this context of the crisis of humanism we can ask ourselves: what is the function of the school from its origins in the eighteenth century to the present day? Therefore, the objective of this work is to think about the processes of domestication and bestialization of individuals and their relations with education and philosophy. Philosophy thus presents itself as a critical way of thinking that assists this task.

Keywords : humanism; education; philosophy.
