Abstract

PERIUS, Oneide. The place of Pauline theology in the thought of Giorgio Agamben. Educação e Filosofia [online]. 2022, vol.36, n.76, pp.561-588.  Epub Jan 29, 2024. ISSN 1982-596X.  https://doi.org/10.14393/revedfil.v36n76a2022-64867.

From the famous and provocative course by Jacob Taubes on the political theology of Paul, Giorgio Agamben takes on the task of unfolding the main insights of the German philosopher, in addition to bringing many original and extremely significant elements to the debate around Pauline theology in contemporary philosophy. Our article intends, by following the careful reading of the Italian philosopher carried out in the book Il tempo che resta: un commento alla Lettera ai Romani, to highlight the dynamics and importance of the messianism of which the apostle's letters are loaded and to identify its place and role in the author's philosophical project.

Keywords : Paul of Tarsus; Jacob Taubes; Giorgio Agamben; Messianic Time; Law.
