SOUZA, Maurício Teodoro de. The knowledge parallax: from the school that teaches to the school that learns. Rev. Elet. Educ. [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.2, pp.345-358. ISSN 1982-7199.  https://doi.org/10.14244/198271991375.

The perception that the school has about the world implies the way that it understands what reality is, fact that impacts upon the perspective that it takes about knowledge and its transmission. This essay aims at discussing the perspective under which knowledge is treated in educational institutions considering four aspects: 1) what constitutes the reality that we project? 2) Why our understanding of what reality is modulates our way of thinking about knowledge? 3) Why the cumulative mode of transmitting knowledge does not contribute to a creative construction of new knowledge? 4) How does our understanding about what time is interfere in the production of knowledge? Despite the limitations of thought formed in the traditional system, it seems necessary to transcend it and realize that in the context of learning to learn all the characters project their realities in the present time, now, in a complex web of interactions and in different forms of language, which generate dynamic relations, and, often, unexpected ones. Having space to express these realities will allow imagination to become present stimulating human potential in a more creative and autonomous way.
