Contemporary youth is surprising society in many different sectors. This same young man is in our school benches and sometimes we don’t give due attention to their individualities, communities and expressions. This research deals with the youth cultures in the school and their membership relations of contemporary young people in relation to the school institution. To achieve the proposed objectives, a questionnaire that encompassed the relationship of subject-young respondents with their school, was applied in three classes of third year high school on the research space, public school in Porto Alegre / RS, Brazil - and subsequently analyzed, resulting in the construction of the final product. The survey results indicate that the contemporary young student is composed of multiple and transient identities and it is adapted to multiple affiliations. Even in the case of specific reality analysis, we understand that the young profile part listened in the survey can be well understood in other areas, to the extent that will be shaping these identity configurations. It was found that the contemporary young man realizes his school and at the same time, points to possible failures in school management. Similarly, it was found that the young appreciate very different school spaces such as courtyards and corridors, however, no inference in the classroom as a pleasant space. There is much to advance this type of research, since we deal with teaching practice.
