Abstract

This project, by being linked to the research under the title “International Comparative Research in special education: Higher Education in Question” which aims at analyzing the policies of Access and permanence of the target audience of special education in the Brazilian and Mexican higher education, brings the outcome of investigation obtained through interview with the university students. Therefore, this text intends to reflect on the meanings in which the students with disabilities credit and the formation process in the context of the Veracruzana University. The theme interlaces Vigosky (1994; 2000) and Paulo Freire (1987; 2001) reflections. According to the first one, the experience comprises the way to evaluate, comprehend and interpret reality, the feelings and derivations from experiences which the individual acquires in the social and cultural context, in this case, in the university range. For Paulo Freire, one has the social sense of Education, comprehending it as a process of reflection that contributes to the participation of the school population in social problems. For the results, one can highlight that the experiences, the meanings from which they view the Veracruzana University as a instituition, how they experience their self-perception, the relationship with the teachers, the teaching and learning of the method, the interpersonal relationship with their families, constitute fundamental experiences to create opportunities for social inclusion.
